Scarlet Tanager

Maybe it’s because red is my favorite color, or maybe it’s because there are fewer warblers around to enjoy close-up;   but anyway, scarlet tanagers really knock my eyes out when they show up in the dense forest.  It’s hard to catch them in the sunlight, but when you do, they really light up the dark woods.

There must be a nest nearby.  This cherry is smooshed and ready to feed somebody.
