The Bald Eagles at Montour Preserve have gotten accustomed to boaters and fisherman coming very close to their perch. Their days are busy catching fish and other prey for their hungry chicks. This morning I was excited to be able to kayak fairly close to the beautiful and majestic bird of prey. From across the lake came the unmajestic cries of its mate, which iBird Pro calls “shrill, high-pitched, and twittering calls.” The bird seemed as if it was scritching around, getting ready to fly and get back to the business of doing his fatherly duties, so I clicked away, hoping to catch it in flight. Here is the scene that I caught on camera:
Ahhh….that’s better!
